Vakeyla Merriweather had 17 kills, 19 assists and six aces, and Jenna Sewell had 38 assists and six aces, leading Liberty High to its first volleyball win of the season, over Niles on Tuesday night.

The scores were 25-16, 20-25, 25-20, 25-17.

Keasia Bell had nine aces and Mackenzie Stanley had five blocks for Liberty (1-5).

For Niles (1-6), Ashley Ganyard had eight kills, four aces, five points and 12 digs; Amber Bellews had five kills, three aces, nine points and three blocks; Shayla Barnes had three kills and five blocks and Danielle Lee had 20 assists.

Larissa Santangelo had 10 kills, four blocks, eight points, five aces and 13 passes to lead Springfield (5-3, 3-2 ITCL).

Katie Kennedy had 13 points and 15 passes; Jessica Evan had 13 points and 25 assists; Brooke Schrieber had seven kills and 12 points, and Carly Cunningham had three aces and 17 passes for Springfield.

For Crestview (2-7, 1-5), Shanelle Davner had 14 kills, two blocks, two points and six digs; Emma Merrill had seven kills, two blocks, four points and eight digs; Kayleigh Miller had eight points and 12 digs and Morgan Newbauer had two points, two aces, 26 assists and nine digs.
