Police say Ohio boy killed while waiting for school bus

COLUMBUS (AP) — Police say a 10-year-old Ohio boy was hit by a sport utility vehicle and killed when he crossed a street while waiting for a school bus with his siblings.

Columbus Police Lt. Thomas Henterly tells The Columbus Dispatch that Cody Jewell was killed this morning while waiting with siblings, ages 8 and 6.

The boy was a fifth-grader at Ridgewood Elementary School in Hilliard, just outside Columbus. Principal Tamar Campbell-Sauer says Cody was a new student. No charges have been filed.
