Little princess heads for state pageant

GIRARD

Hailey Benders, 6-year-old daughter of Sascha and Michelle Benders of Girard, was awarded the title of Little Miss American Rose during a pageant on Aug. 14.

The Girard City princess is a student at Prospect Elementary School and enjoys dancing and being a member of the Girl Scouts. Inspired by her kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Valley, she hopes to become a schoolteacher.

Hailey will represent Girard in the Ohio state pageant on Sept. 30.
