Former Ohio prison guards indicted

SPRINGBORO, Ohio (AP) — Two Ohio prison officers have been indicted after police say they found them in a car with drugs and a note suggesting inmates were being given narcotics.

The Dayton Daily News reports today that Warren County court officials say 36-year-old Annika Skinner faces charges of deception to obtain drugs and possession of drugs and that 61-year-old Herbert Cook Jr. faces a count of trafficking in drugs.

An indictment report says Skinner “used deception with several doctors” to get prescription drugs and possessed drugs that Cook obtained during a traffic stop.

Springboro police say they found the two in Skinner’s car in May along with the note and more than 100 pills. Both resigned in July from the Warren Correctional Institution in southwest Ohio.
