Fish sale slated for pond stocking

The Mahoning Soil and Water Conservation District is selling fingerling-size fish for pond stocking.
The deadline to order is Oct. 8. Pickup will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Canfield Fairgrounds Coliseum 8.
A lined container filled with pond water must be brought to pick up. Five to 10 gallons of water per 100 fish is required.
The white amur must be placed in a container with a lid or a liner large enough to be tied at the top, and only two may occupy each 5 gallons of water.
Other conservation materials for sale include pond safety kits, birdseed, birdhouses and bird feeders.

Fish available include:
Fathead minnows: 100 for $6
8-12” white amur: $12.50 each
3-5” redear shellcrackers: 90 cents each
2-4” crappies: 90 cents each
2-4” bass: 80 cents each
2-4” bluegill: 70 cents each
2-4” yellow perch: 70 cents each
4-6” channel catfish: 75 cents each
