The Golden Tornadoes’ home-winning streak was snapped at seven. Facing off against the Lions for the first time since 1938, Geneva watched the 2009 Sweet 16 opponent score 37 of the game’s final 45 points to pull away for a lopsided victory. Gerard Muschette turned in 135 yards on 24 carries and moved into fourth place on Geneva’s all-time rushing list in the process. He also scored a pair of touchdowns giving him five in the first two games of the season. David Girardi threw for 266 yards on 22-33 passing and a pair of touchdowns. Geneva’s defense allowed the Lions to gain 507 yards of total offense and have yielded 81 points combined in the first two games of the year. Marcus Costanza and Chance Kelosky each finished the game with a team best seven tackles but it was far from enough for the Geneva defense.
