The sixth annual Carpatho-Rusyn Vatra (bonfire) will be held rain or shine from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Shrine of Mariapoch, 17486 Mumford Road, just off U.S. 422 west of Warren. The festivities include traditional and ethnic food, and entertainment by: Krakowiaki Polish Folk Circle (2 p.m.), a Russian Chorus (2:30 p.m.), Rusyn Sing Along, Children’s Slovak Folk ensemble (3:15 p.m.), a Hungarian dance company and dinner music by Jerry Jumba (5:30 p.m.).

Food will be served before and after the 4 p.m. Slavonic Liturgy and Panachida service with Orthodox and Byzantine participation at the outdoor church.

The evening entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. with the Living Traditions Folk Ensemble, the Csardas Dance Company and the Slavjane Folk Ensemble.

The event is free, and camping is available on the grounds for a donation to the Shrine. For more information, call Bonnie at 440-729-2045.

Harvest festival and craft show

CANFIELD

White House Fruit Farm, on Route 62, will have its Craft Show and Harvest Festival Saturday and Sunday. Artisans will set up booths on the grounds. There also will be horse-drawn wagon rides through the orchards, a petting zoo and a children’s play area. The pumpkin pavilion will be open, and fresh apples and cider will be available.
