State Rep. Linda Bolon of Columbiana, D-1st, will have an informational session to go over details of the new Ohio Veterans’ Bonus program from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Salem Community Center. A representative from the Ohio Department of Veterans Services will explain the application process. Bolon encourages veterans and their relatives to attend to learn how to apply.
Band Night set at Mathews field
VIENNA
Mathews Music Boosters will sponsor its annual Mathews Band Night at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Boosters Field.
Participating bands include Southington Chalker, McDonald, Mineral Ridge, Youngstown East and Western Reserve high schools.

Hope Taft to speak at clinic celebration

Hope Taft, president and chief executive officer of the Leadership To Keep Children Alcohol Free Foundation, will be the keynote speaker Tuesday for Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic’s Hope Has a Home celebration.
The event at the Davis Education and Visitor Center’s Rossi Auditorium, at Mill Creek MetroParks’ Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., begins at 6:30 p.m. Taft will speak on “Leading the Way: Helping Children Stay Alcohol- and Drug-Free.”
