Chefs’ Secrets to benefit the Sojourner House
Alan Donatelli of DonaVito’s Italian Grill in Struthers was assisted by his mother, Beverly Bucci, as he instructed participants in making Seafood a la Mariotti at last year’s Chefs’ Secrets event. Donatelli will offer the class again at this year’s event, on Sept. 19.

The MetroPlex Center, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, Liberty, will be the setting Sept. 19 for the seventh annual Chefs’ Secrets event.
The event will offer a series of 18 cooking classes to those attending.
Patrons will choose their class schedules by reviewing the offerings of the chefs who will teach the courses. Some of the chefs are affiliated with area restaurants, and others are local gourmet chefs. Courses will include appetizers, entr es and desserts. A salad will be served with the main course.

Rob Gollan of Tow Jo’s and Bob Liller, crab cakes with r moulade sauce.

The ballroom will feature an exposition area with vendors promoting some of the area’s food-related businesses.
The event also will include auctions, raffles, a cash bar and live entertainment.
Doors open at 3 p.m., and the event begins at 4. Cost is $50, half of which is tax-deductible. Proceeds will benefit Sojourner House and its domestic violence prevention program.
