BP station event to thank customers
youngstown
The BP gas station at 2703 Belmont Ave. will host a customer-appreciation event Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is designed to thank the community for its continued support of the business. A number of BP gas stations across the nation have been hosting customer- appreciation days to counter protests regarding the April explosion of the company’s Deepwater Horizon drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico. The spill, which left oil gushing into the gulf for more than three months, was the largest in the country’s history. Since the spill, BP has launched a multibillion-dollar marketing campaign to try to repair its tarnished corporate image.
