Tops In Blue, the Air Force’s Premier Entertainment Showcase, is coming to the Mahoning Valley for a free show at 7 p.m. Saturday at the W.D. Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW. The doors open at 6:15 p.m., and the limited seating is first come, first seated.
The 910th Airlift Wing at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna is sponsoring the tour locally.
Tops In Blue is an Air Force special unit made up of 35 of the most-talented vocalists, musicians, dancers, comedians, magicians and dramatists worldwide.
TSO returns Nov. 3

Trans-Siberian Orchestra will return to Covelli Centre on Nov. 3 for two shows: 4 and 8 p.m. Tickets range from $25 to $57 (additional fees may apply) and will be available via an Internet presale from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 10 p.m. next Friday. The regular ticket sale begins at 10 a.m. Sept. 18, when tickets will be available at Livenation.com, all Ticketmaster outlets and the Covelli Centre box office.

Traffic restrictions

Vehicle traffic at West Federal Street and Fifth Avenue, near the Spring Commons Bridge, will be restricted through early next week.
The city hired Shelly & Sands to pave the road. The work started Thursday and should be done early next week, said Charles Shasho, the city’s deputy director of public works.
Scrap-tire collection

The township, through a grant from Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District, will conduct the annual scrap-tire collection from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at an area behind the maintenance garage at the township administration building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road. There is no curbside collection.
There is a limit of eight tires, and tires must be off rims. Passenger-car and light-truck tires will be accepted.
Breakfast meeting

The Trumbull County Republican Party will have its monthly breakfast meeting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Community Room in Eastwood Mall, near the Trumbull County Republican Headquarters and Dillard’s.

Band Night planned
Boardman
Boardman Band Night will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Boardman Stadium. Bands from West Branch, Springfield, Austintown, Canfield and Boardman high schools will perform.
The gates open at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Senior citizens are admitted free to all Boardman Band events.
