Police: Ohio man dragged 6-year-old by helmet
NORWOOD, Ohio (AP) — Police in southwest Ohio say a 6-year-old boy was punished for not paying attention during football practice by having to run more than a mile and then being dragged by his helmet.
His mother and a male friend are jailed in Hamilton County on charges of child endangering.
Norwood police say the boy was forced to run from practice and that 41-year-old Charles Robinson grabbed him by the helmet facemask and began dragging him. Police say an officer in the city just east of Cincinnati then arrested the couple.
A police sergeant says the alleged punishment seemed particularly harsh because boys that age seldom pay attention.
Thirty-six-year-old Chellie Bowden and Robinson were being held today without bond.
