Boardman library hosts Baby Brilliant

Neighbors | Shaiyla Hakeem .Children and adults sang and clapped to the song, "BINGO" at Boardman library's Baby Brilliant: Tales and Talks for 2s and 3s story time Sept. 1. The program is intended to enhance language progression, brain development and reading skills.

Toddlers at the Boardman library discovered new animals and sounds while exercising their preliteracy skills in an interactive story time on Sept. 1.

The library hosted its weekly Baby Brilliant: Tales and Talks for 2s and 3s for toddlers who love books. Library Children’s Service Specialist Mary Yee led the group in discovering new sounds through interactive stories, songs and finger plays.

Baby Brilliant is intended to enhance children’s learning ability, brain development and language progression by introducing them to books and sounds at a young age. Parents who are unable to attend the Brilliant Baby story times can check out a Baby Brilliant To-Go Kit from the children’s librarian.

Kits for early talkers, ages 0 to 2 years old, includes 10 books, two music CDs and one educational toy. Kits for talkers and pre-readers, ages 2 to 5 years old, includes 15 books, two music CDs and two educational toys.
