The Victorian Players will open the 2010-11 season Friday with the Thornton Wilder classic “Our Town.”
The cast includes Lisandra Stebner, who was last seen at the Victorian as Helen Keller in “The Miracle Worker”; and Dylan White, who appeared in two productions there last season — “Sherlock Holmes” and “Block 5.” He won Marquee Awards for both roles.
David El’Hatton will make his Victorian Players debut in the play.
The cast also includes Terry Shears, Gary Deckant, Jim Canacci, John Pecano, Gerri Sullivan, Dave and Donny Wolford, Lori Broderick, Marilyn Higgins Leigh Ann Cox and Lauren Cline.
Sam Luptak Jr. is the director.
“Our Town” was last presented locally by the Youngstown Playhouse in 2003. The play is set in the small town of Grover Corners between 1901 and 1913.
It focuses on two families as their kids grow up, get married and face life situations.
What makes it unique is the use of the stage manager (El’Hatton) as a narrator who moves the story along in an easy manner to make the audience feel like it’s a part of the town.
