YOUNGSTOWN

Two people suspected of burglary who police said apparently were too tired to finish stealing from a South Side home will be back in court next week.

Tyrone Gregory, 32, of West LaClede Avenue, and Rafaelle Daye, 38, of North Evanston Avenue, will appear Monday for a preliminary hearing before Judge Elizabeth Kobly of Youngstown Municipal Court.

Daye is charged with burglary and faces charges on outstanding warrants for domestic violence and criminal trespass.

She is in the Mahoning County jail with bond set at $75,000.

Gregory is charged with burglary and facing outstanding warrants for not maintaining water and electricity at a residence in the city.

He is in the county jail with bond set at $50,000.

City police were sent to a home in the 2000 block of Summer Street on Sunday after a 27-year-old woman realized someone entered her home via a front window that had been shattered.

The resident found her South Side home ransacked with personal belongings thrown everywhere, but what she found in a second-floor bedroom was most shocking.

The woman told officers she walked into the bedroom and found Daye and Gregory sleeping in her bed.

The woman called 911 and screamed at the two intruders, “What are you doing in my house?” Reports say Daye and Gregory awoke and simply walked out the front door.

Police arrested the pair less than a block away from the house.
