Run to bring attention to prostate cancer

Runners and walkers will gather at Wick Park on Sunday for the first Blue Ribbon 10K for Prostate Cancer Awareness.
Sponsored by the Humility of Mary Health Partners Development Foundation, proceeds from the race will support community programs to raise awareness of prostate cancer. Funding also will support purchase of equipment used in the treatment of the disease.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. at Wick Park Pavilion on race day. The 10K run will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the 2-mile run/walk starting shortly after. The 10K route will go through the Youngstown State University campus and downtown Youngstown before returning to Wick Park.
The pre-registration deadline is Friday evening, with a fee of $17 for the 10K race, and $20 fee on Sunday. The fee for the 2-mile run/walk is $10.
