Honda raises price for 2011 Odyssey

TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) — Honda set the pricing for its all-new 2011 Odyssey minivan today at $27,800, about $840 more than the 2010 version.

The minivan goes on sale Sept. 30. It faces tough competition from the 2011 Toyota Sienna, which was introduced in June and starts at $24,460.

Honda says the new Odyssey has better fuel economy, a more distinctive style, more leg room in the third row and five latch points for child seats, the most of any vehicle.

The Odyssey has been a strong performer despite a gradual decline in U.S. minivan sales as buyers have migrated to crossovers and SUVs.
