Lowellville senior to represent Ohio at teen pageant in Florida
LOWELLVILLE
Brandy Marie Prusak, 17, a daughter of Frank and Jill Prusak of Lowellville, was crowned Miss Buckeye State during a pageant that took place Aug. 15 in Worthington.
She was judged on the basis of an interview, appearance in an evening gown and her personal introduction.
During the event, she also competed in and won the 2010 Ohio Talent Award with a musical theater and tap-dancing performance to the music of “Forget About the Boy.”
As holder of the Miss Buckeye State title, she will represent Ohio at the 2010 Miss American Teen National Pageant at Disney World during the week of Thanksgiving. She will be competing for thousands of dollars in cash awards, prizes and scholarships.
Miss Prusak is a senior at Lowellville High School, where she is on the High Honor Roll. She is a cheerleader with the Lowellville Rockets, who won two first-place awards and were camp champs this year at the UCA camp at Ohio State University.
Miss Prusak is involved in the marching band, concert band and choir at school and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW, Mahoning County Young Democrats and Mahoning Chapter of the American Red Cross. She plans to attend Youngstown State University and a medical school in pursuit of a dermatology degree.
