A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
Sept. 2
Theft: A $100 concrete figurine was stolen from a residence in the 2900 block of Spitler Road.
BOARDMAN
Sept. 2
Counterfeit: Two people tried to pass two fake travelers checks at T.J. Maxx & More, 717 Boardman-Poland Road.
Drugs: A 15-year-old township boy was cited on charges of drug abuse (marijuana) and being an unruly juvenile after his mother said she found two small bags of suspected marijuana in his room.
Theft: Katrina M. Haskins, 26, of 3022 Southern Blvd., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of $75 worth of T-shirts and other merchandise from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown man learned his debit card had been used without consent to buy food at two Boardman restaurants.
Identity fraud: An Oregon Trail woman discovered someone had used her identity related to an accident she was never in.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 900 block of Shields Road through a rear door. Stolen was $300.
Fraud: A worker for a Boardman-Canfield Road care center told police a woman defrauded people with various medical needs by improperly using their forms.
Sept. 3
Theft: Acting on a tip, police arrested 32-year-old Jedediah M. Thomas at his residence, 850 Mathews Road, Boardman, on a felony warrant from Poland.
Theft: A $600 i-Phone was stolen from AT&T, 7125 Tiffany Blvd.
Aggravated menacing: William F. Moritz, 47, of 7057 West Blvd., Boardman, faced a charge after three neighbors alleged he had made numerous threats against their lives and pulled out a knife.
Theft: A woman reported her wallet and money stolen at a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant.
Theft: A 17-year-old Cleveland girl was charged with stealing $241 worth of clothing from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall. She also was charged with obstructing official business when, police said, she provided a false name.
Theft: A South Avenue man reported the theft of his $350 digital camera.
Theft: A $600 cell phone was stolen from Verizon Wireless, 439 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A Niles woman reported prescription medications, a cell phone and other personal property likely stolen from a residence in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court.
Theft: An Austintown woman accused her husband, of West Parkside Drive, of stealing and using three of her credit cards.
Theft: An MP3 player and $35 were removed from a vehicle in the 1700 block of Lemans Avenue.
Possible theft: A man reported his wallet lost or stolen in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.
Criminal damaging: Someone used a rock to break three windows to a home in the 7700 block of Silver Fox Drive.
Fraud: A Sugartree Drive man reported a phone company confirmed an order for four phones and related service that he never ordered.
Theft: Two light bars were removed from a truck at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery.
Sept. 4
Theft: After $715 worth of clothing was stolen from the JCPenney store in Southern Park Mall, charges were filed against three Youngstown women: Kentairrah S. Miller, 19, of 3138 Idlewood Drive; Danielle A. Douglas, 21, of 2219 Oakwood Ave.; and 21-year-old Keyairrah K. Murphy, 181 E. Ravenwood Ave. All were released on summonses.
Theft: A $100 garage-door opener was stolen from a car at the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A Youngstown woman reported her purse stolen at a South Avenue store.
Theft: A woman in her mid-20s took about $340 worth of purses and clothes from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A wallet was removed from a vehicle in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court.
Criminal mischief: A man knocked over and broke a $33 statue at a Market Street store, then fled.
Arrest: A traffic stop on Tippecanoe Road led to charges of underage possession of alcohol and contributing to the delinquency of a minor against Jennifer A. Robin, 20, of 1592 Fountain Square Drive, Austintown. Also in the vehicle was a 16-year-old girl in violation of the township’s curfew law, a report said.
Sept. 5
Arrest: Police responded to someone’s refusal to leave a West Boulevard apartment, where they took into custody 42-year-old Shirley A. North, 7057 West Blvd., on a warrant charging her with violating a court order.
Arrest: Officers pulled over a possible drunken driver on Market Street, then charged the passenger, 37-year-old Darrin Howell, 1446 Atlantic St. NE, Warren, with obstructing official business. Howell gave false information about the driver and his relationship to her, a report showed.
Vandalism: A door to an apartment in the 90 block of Shadyside Drive sustained $500 damage.
Theft: A woman in her 20s stole a carton of cigarettes from a Shell True North gas station, 998 E. Western Reserve Road.
Vandalism: A vending machine was damaged at a U.S. Route 224 car wash.
Sept. 6
Criminal damaging: A key was used to damage the finish on a vehicle’s hood in the 6600 block of Bristlewood Drive.
Domestic violence: A Boardman girl, 15, was charged with the crime after her mother alleged the teen had shoved her against a wall and struck the accuser’s shoulder and arm during an argument.
Theft: Two people stole $140 worth of clothing from Gabriel Bros., though the store declined to press charges.
Theft: I’sha M. Moss, 26, of 1438 E. Florida Ave., Youngstown, was charged and released on a summons after three steaks had been stolen from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: A Canfield woman reported her wallet stolen at a Doral Drive store.
Theft: A Kiwana Drive man reported clothing, shoes, jewelry, books and other items stolen from his home.
Breaking and entering: A Mill Creek Boulevard resident noticed damage to a neighbor’s shed, apparently after someone had entered.
Criminal mischief: Someone damaged and discarded lawn lights at a residence in the 7700 block of Silver Fox Drive.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 100 block of Shields Road, though nothing seemed to be missing.
