Cancer walk planned for October in Canton
CANTON
The American Cancer Society will sponsor its 11th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk Oct. 24 in Canton.
The 3.1-mile noncompetitive walk will begin with registration at 9 a.m. The walk will start at 10 a.m. at Canton McKinley High School.
Walkers are not required to raise a minimum amount but will obtain donations in the amounts of $10, $25, $50 and $100 or more for the ACS and turn them in at The Repository registration area on the day of the walk.

Zumbathon at JCC is a fundraiser
YOUNGSTOWN
Zumba, the newest rage in the fitness industry, will be featured at the Youngstown Jewish Community Center during a two-hour Zumbathon from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 23.
All proceeds from the nonstop, high-energy workout will benefit Liberty Relay for Life and will stay in the Valley to benefit local cancer patients.
The registration fee is a minimum donation of $20. Those registering before the October 9 deadline will receive a free T-shirt.

Free transitions seminar planned
WARREN
Jenn’s Total Fitness, 8240 E. Market St., will host a free seminar on Transitions Lifestyle System for the residents of Trumbull and Mahoning counties.
Participants in the overview seminar will learn about low-glycemic-index eating, exercise, stress reductions and supplementation.
Facilitating the Wellness Prevention Program will be Butch Temnick, a former wellness coordinator for the Horry County Government and wellness instructor for Coastal Carolina University and Webster University in Myrtle Beach. He is a lifestyle coach and wellness consultant.
