Attendance at the Canfield Fair through its six-day run was 327,631 compared to 318,748 in 2009 — an increase of 8,883 people.
Attendance surged on Monday with 58,490 people coming through the gates and on Sunday, when crowds pushed 100,000.
Timm Schreiber, Fair Board director of admissions, said 95,382 people came to the fairgrounds Sunday, making it the highest Sunday attendance on record since 2001, when 101,282 people visited.
Schreiber said Sunday’s figure also topped any Saturday attendance since 1995.
Schreiber had said previously that because of comedian Jeff Dunham’s Monday night show in the Grandstand, he expected to easily surpass the total attendance from the 2009 fair. In 2009, there was no Monday night Grandstand show.
