State cops: Smoking ban citations down in Pa.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — State police say they’re issuing fewer citations to restaurants and bars two years after Pennsylvania’s indoor smoking ban went into effect.

State police said they issued 133 citations and sent out 146 warning letters in the first six months of 2010. That’s down from 150 citations and 229 warning letters in the previous six months.

The state health department is responsible for enforcing the ban in other public places.

The indoor smoking ban’s second anniversary is Saturday.
