Sherry Lynn Borys, a daughter of Patricia and Bohdan Borys of Mesquite, Nev., and Michael Robert Karis, a son of Margaret and Robert Karis of Poland, were united in marriage Aug. 14 at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park.

The Rev. Robert DeZee officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony, and the couple accepted congratulations during a reception that followed at The Georgetown in Boardman. After a wedding trip to Montego Bay in Jamaica, they live in Austintown.

Beaded lace adorned the bride’s strapless tulle and organza A-line gown, and the skirt flowed into a ruffled train.

Wisteria gowns were worn by Theresa Mottle, the honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Brittany Porcase, Brittany Smith and the groom’s sister, Michelle Karis.

The duties of best man were performed by the groom’s cousin, Adam Karis, and groomsmen were Steven Driest, Josh Hvizdak, Brian Senich and Scott Senich.

The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and is a staff accountant with First Place Bank in Warren.

The groom is an installation technician with Baker Installations in McMurray, Pa.
