Nearly 100,000 people visited Canfield Fair on Sunday

Attendance at the Canfield Fair on Sunday pushed 100,000.

Timm Schreiber said 95,382 people came through the gates Sunday, making it the highest Sunday attendance on record since 2001, when 101,282 people visited the grounds.

Schreiber said Sunday’s figure also topped any Saturday attendance since 1995.

“The weather played a major factor, and now we’re only about 7,800 people behind where we were on this day last year,” he said. “We had a great day [Sunday.]”

Schreiber said because of comedian Jeff Dunham’s Monday night show in the grandstand, he expects to easily surpass the total attendance from the 2009 fair. In 2009, there was no Monday night grandstand show
