SENIOR SIDELIGHTS

Associated Neighborhood Centers (McGuffey Centre), 1649 Jacobs Road, Youngstown, will have an annual Day of Caring Senior Social at 10 a.m. Friday. Activities include a fashion show, music and bingo. Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, closed for Labor day; Tuesday, oil painting and Alzheimer’s Support Group at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, exercise at noon and Digital Club and Caregiver Support Group at 2 p.m; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., tap class at noon, tai chi and 500 cards at 1 p.m., and Digital Club at 2; Thursday, woodcarvers and Watch Our Weight Club at 9 a.m., Diabetic Support Group at 10, exercise at noon, line dancing at 1 p.m. and beginner line dancing at 2; and Friday, board games and parties. Home Energy Assistance Program applications are available at the center. The center has applications for the SBC telephone discount program of $12.38 per month for eligible applicants.
