Reception honors Mr., Mrs. Carbon for anniversary

Family members and friends gathered at St. Michael Social Hall in Canfield on Aug. 15 to honor Mr. and Mrs. John Carbon of Boardman as the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Invitations for the event were issued by their sons and their wives, John and Donna Carbon and Bob and Diane Carbon, all of Canfield. Their family includes five grandchildren.

Italian music was provided as entertainment at the reception by Franco Simone.

The former Marie Dundee and Mr. Carbon exchanged nuptial vows on June 3, 1950, as they were united in marriage at Immaculate Conception Church in Youngstown. They are members of St. Dominic Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Carbon is retired after being employed 10 years by Dr. Usha Sethi.

Mr. Carbon served as a sergeant with the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired in 1984 after 33 years of service as a firefighter with the City of Youngstown.
