Mooney's McCarthy signs with Broncos' practice squad

Mooney High graduate Kyle McCarthy signed with the Denver Broncos' practice squad after being waived by the team on Saturday.

McCarthy, an undrafted free agent safety from Notre Dame who signed with Denver in April, is expected to be one of eight members of the practice squad.

NFL teams had to finalize their 53-man rosters by 6 p.m. Saturday.
