YSU LIVE | YSU trails Penn State 13-7 at halftime

The Eric Wolford era is off to a pretty nice start.

The Penguins trail Penn State just 16-7 at halftime at Beaver Stadium, which is the best they've done in the six "guarantee games" they've played against BCS opponents since 2005. In fact, in the previous five games against Penn State, Pitt and Ohio State, they've trailed by a combined score of 114-6.

Here's the breakdown of those halftime scores.

2009: Pitt 21-3

2008: OSU 26-0

2007: OSU 21-3

2006: PSU 20-0

2005: Pitt 16-0

Trailing 7-6, Penn State retook the lead with 1:20 left in the second quarter on a 20-TD pass from Robert Bolden to Brett Brackett. Collin Wagner added a 48-yard field goal as the clock expired to make it 16-7.

Penn State kicker Collin Wagner made a 49-yard field goal with 14:08 left that cut the deficit to 7-6.

YSU junior LB David Rach (South Range) got the game's first turnover when he made his third career interception off a Robert Bolden pass with 8:56 left. It gave YSU the ball on its own 49. YSU picked up a first down before the drive stalled on a fourth-and-2 at the PSU 32.
