Poland golfers best 2009 state champions
The Poland girls varsity golf team defeated defending state champion Notre Fame Cathedral Latin 166-174 at Fowler’s Mill in Chesterland.
Poland’s Allison Mitzel and Maria Mancini had the best scores of the day with 37s.
Giana DiBenedetto carded a 45 and Christine Bilas shot a 47.
Notre Dame’s Emily Jereb led her team by shooting a 39.
Poland and Canfield golf teams face off
The Poland girls golf team shot a 157 against Canfield’s 171 Aug. 25 at the Mill Creek South Course back nine.
Maria Mancini led the way for Poland with a 36. Allison Mitzel shot a 38, while Christine Bilas carded a 41. Giana DiBenedetto was close behind with a 42. Melinda Hannon carded a 49 and Natalie Rivello added a 53.
Canfield’s junior varsity golf team won their match against Poland Aug. 25 at Mill Creek South front nine with a score of 207-229.
Poland’s Chloe Snider was the lead scorer for the team with a 51. Rachel Sines shot a 56 and Rachel Jeswald was close behind with a 58. Jacki Lendi and Alexa Granitto carded 64s.
Bulldog 100 raffle offers big prize
The Poland All-Sports Booster Club will conduct a Bulldog 100, a maximum 100-ticket raffle with a chance to win up to $3,500.
