Prison guard to face trial in gun-range killing

HARRISBURG
A prison guard is being bound over for trial in the shooting death of a lawyer at a central Pennsylvania gun range.
Raymond Franklin Peake III was held without bail at the Cumberland County Prison on charges that include criminal homicide and robbery after Friday’s hearing before Carlisle District Judge Paula Correal.
Prosecutors say Peake murdered Todd Getgen and stole his AR-15 rifle at the range near Carlisle on July 21.
District Attorney David Freed says investigators recovered shell casings and bullet fragments that match the rifle Peake used.
Peake, who has been suspended as a guard at Camp Hill state prison, told police he found Getgen dead.
He said he stole the rifle so it could not be used by an extremist group trying to overthrow the U.S. government.
