Head coach Phil Simone oversees both the boys and girls soccer programs for the Cardinals, entering his 10th year as the boys head mentor this fall.

His squad was 11-6-1 overall a season ago and 4-1-1 in the tough All-American Conference, finishing as runners-up to eventual champion Poland.

“Upperclass leadership will be a key for us this year, while improving each and every time out,” said Simone. “Of course, staying healthy will also be key if we expect to have a successful season once again.”

Lost from last year’s squad are three seniors: Jordan Ricks, Andrew McCluskey and Andreas Solano. But with six seniors and 13 juniors set for the 2010 season, leadership should not be lacking.

Captain Patrick Stickle will be joined by fellow seniors Steve Negley, Shawn Madison, Joseph Geiser, Julian Fusillo and Michael Derose.

Two juniors, Mike Thomas and Tony ElHayek, will also serve as captains this season and will be joined by classmates Gianni Donofrio, Travis Gorley, Jared Hofsess, Jon Hutnyan, Sean Keyse, Aaron Kunz, Jack Monda, Cody Ray, Aly Saleh, Mike Wittman and Tom Yankush.

Two sophomores, Ryan Yankush and Dylan Seybert, and a freshman, Ronnie Mangie, round out the varsity roster.
