Television ads for the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze will debut Tuesday, featuring the voice of Tim Allen, best-known for the TV series “Home Improvement.” Chevrolet announced Friday that Allen, who also is the voice of Buzz Lightyear in the “Toy Story” trilogy, will be the new voice for the brand. Allen, a Detroit native, is known for his love of cars. GM also announced Friday that a five-door hatchback model of the Cruze will go on sale in Europe and other global markets in mid-2011.

New trades project

The Valley Trades Coalition will break ground on its pre-apprenticeship project at 2028 Palmyra Road on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Program participants will build a house to be donated to Habitat for Humanity. The project will be funded by community-development funds from the city of Warren and a federal grant obtained by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 573. The project is a collaboration among IBEW Local 573, the city of Warren, Habitat for Humanity Trumbull County and the Trumbull Career and Technical Center’s Adult Training Center.
