The Youngstown Board of Education selected Connie Hathorn as the new superintendent of schools. Some details:

Education: Doctorate in educational administration from Iowa State University.

Professional: Served 19 years in the Akron city schools, most recently as executive director of student support. He also worked as a teacher, assistant principal and principal in other states.

Hometown: A Mississippi native, Hathorn lives in Copley but said during the community forum this week that he would move to Youngstown if selected for the job.
