Townships don’t get bus benefits
After reading Mayor Smith’s letter about the unfair WRTA tax I agree that it benefits the city of Youngstown only. I have yet to see more than two people on a bus in Austintown.
It seems to me that there are two Mahoning counties: Youngstown and the rest of the county that pay the bills. We always have to bail out Youngstown. Mill Creek Park and the airport are good examples.
The Mahoning County commissioners do not care about the rest of the county, they just gave Youngstown six-plus acres of Austintown land so we know how the people along Western Reserve Road feel that the county wants to take their land by eminent domain.
We must remember this when we vote for any county tax levy. Let us get back to a government of the people and for the people.
