New charges filed in jogging mom’s death
MT. LEBANON, Pa. (AP) — A man is facing vehicular homicide charges in the death of a jogger who was struck and killed while pushing her children in a stroller.
Twenty-year-old Benjamin Cope, of Mt. Lebanon, is charged with striking and killing 36-year-old Lisa Styles in June. Cope had been charged with driving under the influence, but new charges including homicide by vehicle while DUI and involuntary manslaughter were announced Thursday.
Police say Cope was under the influence of marijuana when the SUV he was driving struck Styles on June 28 as she pushed her two young children in a stroller. The children were unhurt.
