ASSOCIATIONS

The Yo-Mah-O Chapter of the Association of Administrative Professionals will meet at 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at The Upstairs restaurant on Mahoning Avenue in Austintown. Girard Band Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the high school cafeteria.

CLUBS

Greater Youngstown Monitoring Association Scanner Club will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St. Anyone interested in scanner monitoring or amateur radio as a hobby is welcome.

Youngstown Women’s Connection invites the public to a luncheon featuring the theme “A Pattern for Life.” The luncheon is scheduled for noon-2 p.m. Sept. 14 at Lucianno’s Banquet Room, 1739 Raccoon Road, Austintown, in the Wedgewood Plaza. Features will include Jennie Roberts from the American Sewing Guild; music by Dona Hewitt; and Carol Reese, speaking on “Wake-up Calls.” The cost is $10 per person for reservations, which include free child care. GUILDS

Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild has scheduled the following group meetings: ASG@JOANN ETC at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Joann Etc., 7386 Market St., Boardman, for a workshop on making caps and mittens for children. Members are to take fleece, cutting tools and mats; Material Girls at 6 p.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 490 N. High St., Cortland, for a magic corner placement/napkin demonstration by Barb Tryon. Members are to take a stapler, ruler and paper scissors; and Designing Women at 10 a.m. Sept. 10 at Domestic Sewing, 2011 Youngstown SE, Warren, to work on holiday party favors. Members should take a machine if possible.

LEAGUES

Boardman Poland Junior Women’s League will have a picnic open house Sept. 13 at the Elton Beard Cabin in Boardman Township Park. The open house will be in conjunction with the Welcome Back dinner at 6:30 p.m. and general meeting at 7:30. Members are asked to take a covered dish for the picnic and school supplies for a local school. The league is open to all women over 18 in the tri-county area. Girard Knights of Columbus will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the K. of C. Hall, 122 S. State St.

St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. every Wednesday of the month in the parish house.

Trinity United Methodist Women will meet at noon Thursday at the church. The program will be presented by Mary Hermance, a storyteller.

Hubbard Historical Society will tour the old Stevenson School building at 6 p.m. Sept. 9 in Masury. Multiple Sclerosis Services Agency, Mahoning County Support Group, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield.
