Scrappers snip Crosscutters

WILLIAMSPORT, PA.
Jesus Aguilar went 4 for 5 with a double, a run and two RBIs to help the Mahoning Valley Scrappers defeat Williamsport 6-1 in a New York-Penn League game on Wednesday.
Alex Kaminsky (6-5) started and threw six shutout innings, giving up four hits while striking out six and walking one. The free agent signee out of Wright State lowered his ERA to 2.48. He entered the night with a 2.71 ERA, which was seventh-best in the league.
Ryan Gardner pitched two innings of shutout relief, surrendering three hits with a strikeout.
Dale Dickerson pitched the final inning, giving up a run on one hit with a walk and a strikeout.
Diego Seastrunk and Rucker each added two hits and Kevin Fontanez tripled, scored and drove in a run for Mahoning Valley (30-42), which is in last place in the Pinckney Division.
The Scrappers will finish their series with Williamsport tonight, then return home for a three-game set against Jamestown to finish the season.
Miguel Alvarez went 3 for 5 for the Crosscutters (40-32), which has a half-game lead on Jamestown in the wild card standings.
