Fundraising night fliers available

A benefit Community Fun Night has been scheduled from 4 to 9 p.m. Sept. 9 at Bob Evans, 73347 California Ave.,

During the event, Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County will receive 15 percent of sales when a patron presents a flier.

Lake Vista will present a historical program

CORTLAND

Lake Vista Retirement Community will sponsor a program about Cortland and Lake Vista at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at the clubhouse, 303 N. Mecca St. (state Route 46).

The program, “Reminiscing Cortland and Lake Vista,” will be presented by Sally Lane, a Cortland historian and editor of the Cortland News, and Betty Linville, a lifetime Cortland resident, former businesswoman and niece of the owner of the original Lake Vista land.

The program will include photos, stories and audience participation. Anyone wishing to take historic photos to be identified or shared is invited to do so.

Afterward, attendees can browse the photo display and enjoy refreshments.

Grey to Green festival seeks volunteers

YOUNGSTOWN

Volunteers are needed for the Grey to Green Festival, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 11 at Wick Park, 1105 Elm St. The festival promotes awareness of environmental issues.

Those volunteering will be asked to donate any amount of time they have available, preferably in two-hour shifts, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to help with such things as setting up and tearing down, assisting vendors, participating in children’s activities or serving in the food area.

Business incubator to be program topic

YOUNGSTOWN

Park Vista Breakfast Club is inviting the public to a meeting at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 16 at the Gathering Room, 1216 Fifth Ave. There will be a free continental breakfast and an informative program.

Julie Michael Smith, chief development officer for the Youngstown Business Incubator, will speak about the evolution and future of the incubator, an organization with a mission to accelerate the start-up and development of companies in Northeast Ohio.
