First lady in Pa. to visit Gettysburg Battlefield

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) — The National Park Service says first lady Michelle Obama and her daughters traveled up from Washington, D.C. to visit the Gettysburg Battlefield.

Gettysburg National Military Park Superintendent Bob Kirby told the Gettysburg Times the first lady visited the park on Wednesday with daughters Malia and Sasha.

Kirby said Obama requested privacy for a personal trip to see the site of the Civil War’s bloodiest battle.
