Today is the deadline for registering for the Trumbull Youth Flag Football League.

The registration will be from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Ralph A. Infante Wellness Center in Waddell Park in Niles. The league is open to boys and girls age 5 through 12. Registration costs $45 per player.

This is a low-impact, noncontact action sport. There is no tackling, no blocking and no fundraising. Children do not have to live in Trumbull County to participate.

Open House

Bloomfield Middle/High School will have its annual open house from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. today.

Visitors will be able to tour the building, meet staff and see the renovations that were completed this summer.

Fashion show

St. Jude Women’s Guild will host a show of “affordable” fashions at 7 p.m. today at the activity center, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana. The free event is open to the public.

Models will walk the runway in “Savvy Chic” selections from the Columbiana Consignment Store. Featured will be affordable attire in sizes from 2 to 22. There also will be displays of jewelry, handbags, scarves, belts, shoes and miscellaneous items.

Child’s play and study

Join the staff of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County as it shares books, songs, rhymes, finger plays and other activities with children age 2 and 3 to help them become successful readers.

The event, “Baby Brilliant: Tales and Talk for 2s and 3s,” will be at 10 and 11 a.m. today at the Austintown and Boardman branches of the library. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
