Police say possible body found in W. Pa. barrel
PITTSBURGH (AP) — State police in west central Pennsylvania believe a barrel found in a body of water contains human remains.
Lt. Brad Shields commands the Indiana, Pa. barracks and says the barrel was found Tuesday. Police aren’t saying much about where and how they found it because they don’t want to tip off possible suspects.
Shields says information from an investigation of robberies and burglaries led police to other possible criminal activity. They searched the body of water on Monday and didn’t find anything, but got more information which led to Tuesday’s discovery.
Nobody has been charged. The barrel and its contents will be examined by state police and officials at the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office today.
