The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber will host its “Business After Hours: A Blueprint for Successful Networking” event Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the conference center of the Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration, 101 W. Rayen Ave.

The Chamber has partnered with the Eastern Ohio Chapter of American Institute of Architects and the Williamson College of Business Administration to showcase the new YSU building, as well as architecture in the Valley. The institute will also present its annual design awards.

east liverpool

A seminar on fundraising and grant writing will take place Nov. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Kent State University’s East Liverpool Branch. The workshop, “Fundraising and Grant Writing: Perspectives of Successful Organizations,” will be hosted by the HandsOn Volunteer Network of the Valley’s Center for Nonprofit Innovation and Leadership and Mahoning/Shenango Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

The Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics is taking applications. The school offers an associate’s degree in specialized technology at its West Mifflin, Pa., location and diploma program at the Youngstown-Warren Regional airport. A new diploma program is to open in Hagerstown, Md., in 2011. The school has about 250 students at its Pittsburgh and Youngstown locations.

Tax-credit seminar

The Mahoning Valley Accounting Society will host an eight-hour seminar on research and development tax credits Friday at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St. The workshop is the first in a series of seminars the society is offering in continuing professional education for certified public accountants. The seminars, which are designed for CPAs, bookkeepers and financial professionals, are open to the public.

Cogun to aid church

Cogun, a local company that provides construction and development services to churches across the country, has recently partnered with Grace Church of All Nations in Dorchester, Mass. The church, which averages about 800 in attendance, is out of space and parking. Cogun is helping them find a new facility, and has also been brought on board to help with budgeting, planning and design.
