Western Illinois 65, Illinois State 38

MACOMB, Ill.

Matt Barr threw six touchdown passes and ran 38 yards for another. The Leathernecks (6-3, 4-2 Missouri Valley) led 35-14 at halftime after Barr’s touchdown run with 1:42 remaining in the second quarter. Barr finished 22 of 25 for 452 yards. Lito Senatus caught seven of Barr’s passes for 210 yards and two scores. He also ran 12 yards for a touchdown, and Terriun Crump and Drew Helt each caught two touchdown passes. Western Illinois scored at least two touchdowns in each quarter. Matt Brown threw three touchdown passes for the Redbirds (4-5, 3-4).

Indiana State 41, South Dakota State 30

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.

Darrius Gates ran for three touchdowns and 143 yards to lift Indiana State. Gates also caught a pair of touchdown throws from Ronnie Fouch, who went 17 for 24 for 284 yards as the Sycamores (5-3, 3-2) led the entire way. The Jackrabbits (3-5, 3-3) came within three points at 17-20 just before halftime after Kyle Minett ran in for a touchdown and Thomas O’Brien connected with Colin Cochart for another, both in the second quarter.

Missouri State 51, Southern Illinois 41.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.

Cody Kirby threw for 348 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead Missouri State. Chris Douglas also helped out the Bears (4-4, 3-2) by rushing for three touchdowns, including two in the second half. The Salukis (3-5, 2-3) led the first half 19-17, thanks in part to touchdown runs by Chris Dieker and Shariff Harris.
