Forgotten Heroes

YOUNGSTOWN

Six Civil War veterans and two special honorees from two wars, all from Mahoning County, will be recognized at the 12th annual Forgotten Heroes Program at 2 p.m. next Sunday at Oakhill Cemetery, 344 Oakhill Ave. The event is sponsored by the 19th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Co. B and the 7th Tennessee Dismounted Cavalry Co. M Civil War re-enactment groups.

Concert planned

Protestant Family Service will sponsor Make A Joyful Noise Concert at 4 p.m. Nov. 14 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive. Refreshments will be served from 3 to 3:45.

A free-will offering will benefit the PFS ministry in helping others. Funds also will be donated by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Coordinators are Harold and Cheri Blackann and Jim Locker.

Milton vacancies

LAKE MILTON

There are vacancies to be filled next year by Milton Township residents interested in a position on either the township zoning board of appeals or zoning commission.

Term lengths are one year, three years and five years.

Residents may send a letter of interest to Jenifer Terry, zoning inspector, P.O. Box 308, Lake Milton 44429. Letters for the appeals board and the zoning commission must be received no later than Nov. 19, and should include term preference.

CleanWays dinner

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

Pennsylvania CleanWays of Butler and Lawrence Counties will have its annual Membership and Volunteer Recognition Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at Gallo’s Italian Villa, 2420 Wilmington Road. The event is open to the organization’s friends, partners, members and volunteers.
