Family, friends honor Martins for 70th anniversary

VIENNA

A surprise dinner party hosted by their family and friends on Oct. 24 honored Earl and Maxine Martin of Vienna for their 70th year of marriage.

The Martins have three children: Janet (Carl) Clark of Ravenna, James Martin of Fowler and Dianne (Tod) Mackey of Vienna. They also have seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Martin had worked at Corinth Assembly of God in Kinsman, where she was church secretary, church organist and classroom aide at Corinth Christian Academy before retiring.

Mr. Martin was employed at Ohio Works Division of U.S. Steel Corp., where he was foreman of the blast furnace maintenance department before retiring. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

The former Maxine Clegg and Mr. Martin were married Oct. 30, 1940. They are members of Victory Christian Center in Coitsville.
