BOARDMAN

The 24th annual “Magic of the Angels Christmas” will descend on Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Ave., on Nov. 20, spreading Christmas spirit to benefit Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

The evening will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. and will include a gourmet dinner followed by dancing.

Todd Franko, editor of The Vindicator, will be master of ceremonies.

The cost to attend the event is $80 per person, and invitations may be obtained by calling the Easter Seals Center at 330-599-5500.

A silent auction will include decorated trees, designer pieces, gift baskets, collectors items and more. In the live auction, specially decorated trees and unique items will be up for bid.

Tickets for $10 each will be sold for a $1,000 Christmas shopping spree at the Eastwood Mall.

Throughout the fall, Angels have been selling other raffle tickets for a stocking full of cash, an Apple iPad and two decorated Christmas trees. Contact any Angel to buy a book of raffle tickets, or call the center. The cost of a book of six raffle tickets is $5. Raffle tickets also will be sold the night of the event, and the winner need not be present.

Guests will be encouraged to participate in “Building Tomorrows,” a special feature this year. The program assesses the needs of those with disabilities and gives everyone the ability to help them.

This year’s “Tomorrows” will feature the stories of Cody Denmeade and Hunter Crites, a former Easter Seals child. Anyone can help build tomorrows by calling Easter Seals Center.

The committee is still accepting donations; call the center.

Also, anyone who wants to help may join the Angels in decorating the Children’s Magical Tree. A $25 donation purchases an ornament for the tree.

Susan Berny is chairwoman with co-chairwomen Phyllis Bacon and Carolyn Leetch assisted by Angels of Easter Seals. Jean Bennett is Angels president.
