UPMC unit to host ‘Delicious Dips’ sale
The UPMC Horizon Medical Equipment Recycling Program will host A “Daddies Delicious Dips” sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday in the UPMC Horizon Shenango Valley campus lobby, at the Womancare center of UPMC Horizon, 875 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the UPMC Horizon Greenville campus lobby.
Dip mixes are $4 each or three for $10. Dips will be available for tasting.

Photo-care workshop planned in Mercer

Mercer County Historical Society, 119 S. Pitt St., is preparing a workshop on caring for your photos, including preservation and storage, from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 6.
Also addressed will be identifying historical photographic processes.

Yarn crafts lessons planned at library
HUBBARD
Two presentations at the Hubbard Public Library, at 6 p.m. Nov. 8 and at 5:15 Nov. 10, will focus on yarn crafts.
Knitting and crocheting will be addressed at the Nov. 8 session.
Take supplies. It does not matter whether you’re a beginner or an expert because there will be teaching and sharing.
The possibility of an ongoing needlework group meeting on a regular basis will be discussed.
At 5:15 Nov. 10 will be a class for beginning knitters. The participants will be able to choose one of two beginner projects: how to make a knitted troop cap or knitted preemie booties.
For this second program, you can take knitting needles, but yarn and needles will be provided.
Call 330-534-3512, ext. 3, to sign up and ensure adequate supplies. There will be at least two follow-up sessions Nov. 17 and Dec. 8 for the initial projects. Participant interest will determine continuation of a knitting group beyond those three sessions.
Haus Orchards Plans Annual Kraut Fest

Haus Orchards and Cider Mill teams up with the American Diabetes Association for the 11th annual Kraut Fest, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 6 and Nov. 7. at 6742 W. Calla Road, Canfield.
Admission cost is $4 for adults and $7 per couple. Kids 12 and under are admitted free. Food and beverages are extra.

Dinner to be served by historical society

Girard Historical will serve dinner on Nov. 6 at St. Mark Church, 3560 Logan Way, Liberty. A social with wine and appetizers will begin at 6 p.m., and the dinner will be at 7. Reservations are necessary.
There will also be a basket auction, quilt raffle, 50-50 drawing and cash drawings.

Fox Creek Cook Off: Whose chili is best?

Fox Creek Fall Cook Off heads to the South Py Dairy Queen, 3285 Saranac Drive, on Nov. 6.
Chili Tasting begins at 2 p.m., and there will be a bucket auction, a bake sale and a 50-50 raffle.
Admission price of $7 for adults and $3 for kids 17 and under gives guests the opportunity to taste all the chili and side dishes they want and vote for their favorites.
