Sts. Mary and Joseph School implemented a character-building program, “Character Counts,” as part of their Ohio Catholic Schools Accreditation Association goals.

Sts. Mary and Joseph School is accredited through both OCSAA and the state of Ohio.

Each quarter the students are working toward building stronger character traits of respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.

This quarter, the students wear green at the beginning of each week to remind them to be responsible not just for themselves but for the planet.

The school’s staff and administration decided that recycling paper in each of their classrooms would be a great way to show the students and the community that the school is partially responsible for our earth.

Each week, students, teachers, administration and custodial staff all work together to gather all the recyclable papers in the recycle bins and take them to the curb.

One classroom at the school started recycling cans two years ago and donates the profit to Sts. Mary and Joseph Parish Food Pantry.
