Karen Elizabeth Setty, a daughter of Richard and Joan Setty of Austintown, and Fabio Bolognesi, a son of Giuliano and Maria Rita Bolognesi of Rome, Italy, were united in marriage at 10:30 a.m. April 10 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

The Rev. Jeffrey Mikler and Deacon Nick Moliterno officiated for the couple, who were honored during a reception in Fellows Riverside Gardens.

After a wedding trip to Paris and Rome, the couple live in Fountain Valley, Calif.

The bride’s strapless trumpet-style gown featured a beaded organza overlay, a corset back and a chapel train.

Hydrangea blue gowns with ivory sashes were worn by the bride’s attendants, Rebbecca Setty, her sister-in-law, and Maureen Oakes.

Groomsmen were Pierluigi Bolognesi, a brother of the groom, and Patrizio Ragno.

Altar server was the bride’s cousin Joshua Brugger, and also participating were Meghan Ball, Shannon Crowley and Lacey Cameron.

The bride, who is retaining her maiden name, is a science writer with Southern California Coastal Water Research Project in Costa Mesa, Calif. She graduated from the University of Dayton with a bachelor’s degree and from the University of California-Santa Barbara, with a master’s of environmental science and management.

The groom graduated from the Istituto Tecnologico Industriale Statale and is a software developer with Eustema, S.p.A. in Rome. He served with the Marina Militare in 1996 and 1997.
