Men to discuss abuse on ‘Oprah’
CHICAGO
Oprah Winfrey is again taking on sexual abuse in a pair of shows she calls “two of the most phenomenal” she’s ever done. Harpo Productions said Thursday that each of 200 men in “The Oprah Winfrey Show” audience will hold a photo of himself at the age when he says he was first abused. Winfrey will be joined on the Nov. 5 episode by filmmaker Tyler Perry and a psychologist who works with male sexual abuse survivors. In the show’s second half airing Nov. 12, the men will discuss abuse’s impact on their relationships as they are joined by their spouses, partners and girlfriends.

Mariah Carey confirmed on NBC’s “Today” show Thursday that she and husband Nick Cannon are expecting their first child. Carey says the baby is due in the spring. Carey, 40, and Cannon, 30, have been the subject of a baby watch since they married two years ago.
‘Danno’ actor dies

Stage and screen actor James MacArthur, who played “Danno” in the original version of television’s “Hawaii Five-0,” died Thursday at age 72. MacArthur’s agent, Richard Lewis, said the actor died in Florida of “natural causes,” but no direct cause was specified. In a career that spanned more than four decades, MacArthur was most recognized for his role as Detective Danny “Danno” Williams on “Hawaii Five-0,” which aired from 1968 to 1980.
